Yesterday in Cambodia and today back to Poland to have a small walk on Sopot longest wooden pier in Europe stretched from the middle of Sopot beach and 511,5 m long. Sopot is a major health-spa and tourist resort destination situated in northern Poland on the coast of the Baltic Sea.
The image was taken just right after the storm, it was quite cold and windy but the clouds were spectacular.

It is not sunset it is sunrise. The colors in this photo are like I have seen it.To make this painterly look I used panning technic and some motion blur in Photoshop. I do not know if I mentioned it before but I love abstracts. They leave so much space for your imagination to work.

No I did not gave up. I am still working on my long time exposure images.
I took this photograph on my last trip to Poland using two ND 4 filters and exposure of 10 sec with f22. 10 sec was enough because it was getting dark already and the sky was painted with all shades of pink and violet.
This is view on the Bay of Puck which is separated from the Baltic Sea by Hel Peninsula. Here is the link if you like to see it on the map http://g.co/maps/t3yre. I was based in a small touristic town Jastarnia.

It was not only Moody Monday but a very moody week I spent last year in Poland.
I went there in October to photograph so called “Gold Polish Autumn” and was prepared for hundreds of colors and I have not seen any color just grey. And this is the result. I made it a little bit gold The first one from the series of very moody images.

Playing with tilt transformer and old Nikon lens NIKKOR 50mm f/1/8 AI

Subject widely discussed over the web. After researches I have found few interesting articles. The best up to now was presented by Brian Auer on his blog Epic Edits.If you are interested please have a look here. Some readers came up with their own interpretations and definitions of the term Limited Edition which I can not agree but final conclusion was : Limited Edition means that ” small set number of prints were made from the original at the same time and of the same size, implying that no further prints will be produced”. In my opinion this is quite correct I just do not believe if nowadays 100 prints are offer as a Limited Edition they are all printed at the same time.
Why am I starting this subject again? I have found a new platform where I would like to offer fine art prints of my images. The platform is called WhiteWall and WhiteWall Head Office is based in Germany. “WhiteWall was created by Stefanie Harig and Marc Ullrich from Berlin. In 2003 they founded the first of what is now an international chain of 11 LUMAS art galleries, and breathed new life into the market by offering affordable works.” (More about their interesting products will come in the next post.) And this is what they say according to our subject: “With respect to limited editions, independently of whether these are offered on the art market or gallery page, you shall make separate assurances both to us and to end consumers that the editions offered on WhiteWall and through other platforms and/or media exist only in the quantity indicated to the end consumer as determined by you with respect to the particular size. You shall refrain from offering editions both on WhiteWall and through other media of any size 20% smaller or larger than the editions offered on WhiteWall. Accordingly, the data file shall be posted only once on WhiteWall; this shall apply also to all variations or modifications of the data file or motif as may be capable of confusion with the original.”
So as far as I understand the most important think to consider while selling today Limited Editions is the certain small number of prints /no matter of medium used/ in a certain size and no other prints can be offer of any size 20% smaller or larger than the offered edition. It sounds logically for me. Let me know what you think about it?
