The National Palace of Montjuic houses National Art Museum of Catalonia abbreviated as MNAC Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. The National Palace of Montjuïc was constructed among 1926 and 1929 for the International Exhibition of Barcelona of 1929. The building was built under the supervision of Pere Domènech i Roura inspired in the spanish Renaissance. Several artist were involved in the decoration of the Palace which is kept more in art nouveau style. It is perfectly placed on the Montjuic hill closed to Placa de Espana and the museum inside opened in 1995 houses great collections of art from different epochs from Romanesque to Modern Art.

The biggest full moon to see in 18 years. 2011.03.19 Double exposure.
Supermoon, the biggest and brightest moon in 18 years. I was not prepared at all and suddenly it was there. I have got panic and I have got it double. Something like double exposure, I am not sure but I like the unusual effect.

Subject widely discussed over the web. After researches I have found few interesting articles. The best up to now was presented by Brian Auer on his blog Epic Edits. If you are interested please have a look here. Some readers came up with their own interpretations and definitions of the term Limited Edition which I can not agree but final conclusion was : Limited Edition means that ” small set number of prints were made from the original at the same time and of the same size, implying that no further prints will be produced”. In my opinion this is quite correct I just do not believe if nowadays 100 prints are offer as a Limited Edition they are all printed at the same time.
Why am I starting this subject again? I have found a new platform where I would like to offer fine art prints of my images. The platform is called WhiteWall and WhiteWall Head Office is based in Germany. “WhiteWall was created by Stefanie Harig and Marc Ullrich from Berlin. In 2003 they founded the first of what is now an international chain of 11 LUMAS art galleries, and breathed new life into the market by offering affordable works.” (More about their interesting products will come in the next post.) And this is what they say according to our subject: “With respect to limited editions, independently of whether these are offered on the art market or gallery page, you shall make separate assurances both to us and to end consumers that the editions offered on WhiteWall and through other platforms and/or media exist only in the quantity indicated to the end consumer as determined by you with respect to the particular size. You shall refrain from offering editions both on WhiteWall and through other media of any size 20% smaller or larger than the editions offered on WhiteWall. Accordingly, the data file shall be posted only once on WhiteWall; this shall apply also to all variations or modifications of the data file or motif as may be capable of confusion with the original.”
So as far as I understand the most important think to consider while selling today Limited Editions is the certain small number of prints /no matter of medium used/ in a certain size and no other prints can be offer of any size 20% smaller or larger than the offered edition. It sounds logically for me. Let me know what you think about it?

I have never been a big fun of HDR photography but I have to admit that looking at images by Trey Ratcliff on www.stuckincustoms.com it is a real pleasure. He is an expert and on his website I have found tutorial about Photomatix software and Topaz Adjust plug-in. Now Topaz company offers Topaz Fusion Express for Lightroom, Aperture and iPhoto. As I work a lot with Lightroom I decided to download 30-days free fully functional trial version. In my archive I have images from a trip to Siem Reap in Cambodia and there are still some waiting to be edited because up to now I was not happy with the results. Looks like the pseudo HDR technique will be adequate for this images allowing me to show the colors and details like I remember them. It is called pseudo HDR because I have only one exposure in RAW format so I can create another two ore more in Lightroom and then compose it using Photomatix. For the real HDR technique I should have three or more exposures straight from the camera. Here is the first one from upcoming series.
